Latest Interview of Mr. Vivek Raina with Startup.info

We discussed with Vivek Raina – VP, CTO, and Co-Founder at Foreignerds, which is a leading mobile app development company, and here is a glimpse of what he said about it.

  1. Let us know first, how are you and your family doing in this COVID-19 situation?

Vivek Raina: My mom got infected with the virus around 5 months ago. She suffered and was then hospitalized for approximately 20 days. When it comes to senior citizens, it takes some time to go.

That is my personal experience of Covid. Consequently, all well since then. We are taking all precautions as well as in-home lockdown.

  1. Let us know about you, your career, how you discovered Foreignerds.

Vivek Raina: I am a VP, CTO, and Co-Founder of Foreignerds. I have spent 15 years with the industry and realized the potentials through those times. Then, we mutually decided that it is time to do something better, and we boomed 6 years ago. Now, we are working with clients from most industries and putting value into their businesses.

  1. How do Foreignerds originate?

Vivek Raina: We originate through prerequisite and try to discover gaps that are time-taking, create problems, and go unnoticed. We try to tackle them through technological solutions and implementation of processes, and we have done that efficiently for ourselves and our customers for the long term.

  1. How the coronavirus pandemic influences your business, and how are you fighting with it?

Vivek Raina: Enormous. Since the local lockdown is here, we had to close offices and transformed our operations into a remote working environment, and that’s actually not so easy. In fact, we utilized tools and all the supports we could feasibly get to make it a clear transition. We have seen a little drop in Productivity when working from home, and anybody who tells you inversely is lying. Well, we’ve taken comprehensive measures to handle that, and that is where everyone cope is with organizations of our size. 6-7 hours spent on the phone, meetings, and every senior management staff.

  1. Have you taken a tough decision? If yes, then what are the lessons you learned?

Vivek Raina: Yes, we did. We’d to let individuals go because they couldn’t manage the culture of the work from home. We had to spend lots of time educating individuals and dealing with IT problems and Google Meet, or Zoom calls. We had to spend lots of funds on tracking, monitoring, and compliance tools, and we’ve accomplished some helpful insights on how to deal with the coronavirus pandemic and the new normal. When the Covid-19 surge begins and the lockdown starts, we have numerous troubles. Now, one year has been over with fighting these situations, and I must tell you that it has been very difficult to deal with it.

  1. What software, tools, and management capabilities are you utilizing to navigate this crisis?

Vivek Raina: Tools like Teramind, Microsoft Teams, OneSpan, ActivTrak, among usual suspects i.e. Jira, Slack, Bitrix, etc.

  1. Who are your main competitors? What is your strategy to stay in the competition?

Vivek Raina: We always try to compete with ourselves and try to make ourselves better from our past experiences and yearly outcomes. That’s what we trust as a company and as an organization. The web services and outsourcing space that we work in is an age-old business and you have to do things inversely and in a better approach to stay focused and be efficient. So, we don’t focus on what others are doing, but people do look at us!

  1. Your final thoughts?

Vivek Raina: We are known to be Foreignerds because we are a gang of nerds working from a foreign space, catering to our worldwide customers and offering great quality outsourcing services at affordable and moderate cost.

  1. Your website?

Google Stopped Working Without Prior Information And We Stopped Working From Home And The Office

Just another day while I was working on my laptop using Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs and several other apps and services provided by Google, I was interrupted without any prior notice..by Google itself! I lost connection and refreshed several times till I failed to restore the connection for accessing the Google Doc on which I was working.  I restarted the laptop and I failed to view the Google Doc. Shockingly, I called my senior to inform her that I cannot log in to Gmail and I got to know that at the same time around 5.30 pm today i.e. 14.12.2020 Google suddenly went down temporarily and all the services were shut down for about an hour.

Recommendations –Google to Rollout a Core Algorithm Update December 2020

Yes, it happened with many of us whether we are working from home or the office when almost it was time to submit our day end reports, all the services and apps provided by Google were not accessible and failed to operate. Many businesses might have hampered, while some got ‘’time-off’’ to refresh. However, as of now, no information is available online at search engines, news channels or social media pages.  This move by Google surely came as shocking ‘’surprise’’ and became the most talked about topic of discussion amongst employees next to the Coffee machines at workplaces.

Top 15 Mobile App Trends for Start-ups and SMEs in 2021

With mobile phones becoming an intrinsic part of everybody’s life, the app market has been recording a boom in the number of mobile applications. From shopping to paying bills online, from tracking fitness to finding routes to destinations, everything is just a few taps away now. Every other day, millions of apps are being uploaded on Google Play and App Store, and with advancements in technologies, there is still so much more that can be achieved. Well, here are a few mobile application ideas that we feel can be game-changers in 2021:

On that note let’s take a look at some new mobile app ideas:

  • Talking camera for blind people. An application that uses the phone camera to analyze the real-world scenario and then uses its artificial intelligence technology to create a real-time audible experience. This application will work on the same concept as Microsoft’s Seeing UI which is an artificial intelligence application. Just like Seeing UI, this app could also read texts, barcodes, and features of a person next to you. Unlike Seeing UI this app should be released on both Android and ios platforms.  Get the ui ux services here.
  • An application that’ll use your phone’s camera to take a scanned photo and based on that picture the app creates a digital projection of yours and will suggest the best outfit in real-time. Although many applications do that, the distinctive property of this application will lie in its accuracy.
  • A voice-modulating application that’ll work whenever you receive a call. To do this, an application will have to work continuously with the phone application and that’s an issue that occurs with all the voice-modulating apps on any platform. None of these apps work as of now, but it will be cool to have one in the market.
  • A meal planning application can be befitting for users worldwide. This application will suggest suitable meals considering the ingredients you have on your shelf, in real-time.
  • A fun application that uses the phone camera to record a video and simultaneously imposes it on any YouTube video. It can be described as an amalgamation of a camera app and a motion-tracking tool.
  • An automated transcription tool could be one of the best applications right now. Think of an app that can transcribe any audio or presentation and transcribes it in real-time. After the presentation or call is ended, it’ll save the transcript in a folder in your system or phone.
  • An application to connect NGOs in a particular area with any local volunteer present in that particular area.
  • Suppose there’s an application that can freeze your entire phone once it’s stolen. For an application to do that, it must be able to survive the factory data reset and once it’s activated, it’ll unlock the phone only by a password that’s set by the owner.
  • An application that can sow all the happening places and events in a parameter set by the user. It then uses machine learning technology to come up with events according to the user’s preference.
  • For all the food lovers out there, an application uses machine learning technology to recommend the best place for a user to eat. Via machine learning, it’ll understand the ordering patterns and favorite food or cuisine of the user and suggests discounts and the best nearby place to have it. It’ll also update the user about upcoming food festivals that features his favorite food and cuisine.
  • An application that links with a device that’s placed inside a car and via Bluetooth the device connects with the phone. Now, this device tells any mechanical fault in your car and updates on your mobile phone.
  • Artificial intelligence-based psychotherapy applications can be beneficial for a lot of users out there. By using machine learning, this application will come up with well-constructed counter-questions to the user’s issues. This application will be restricted to those who take a subscription and the packages will be divided on an hourly basis.
  • For all the students, professors, scientists, and engineers, an application that can identify a particular formula would be cool. This application will run on machine learning and using its database, it’ll identify any mathematical formula and tell the user exactly what they’re using.
  • If we’re talking about an application that can identify a mathematical formula, then it won’t be wrong to think about an application that reads the photo of an outfit, book, or anything of materialistic value and tells the user about the nearby stores from where they can buy it.
  • An application that can act as a virtual assistant for your home or workspace. This application will use its artificial intelligence technology and will work as a centralized system for your home. Unlike Google Home and Apple Pod, it’ll have a fair bandwidth.

These are some of the few mobile application development trends that are likely to grow, even in the coming year and the future as well.

How to Navigate your Business During the Global Pandemic

How to Navigate your Business During the Global Pandemic

With nations all around the globe relaxing the restrictions in their individual states, businesses have started to get back on their feet but there is still economic uncertainty. Potential buyers and even loyal customers are still hesitating to buy. Most of the nations have been in quarantine for the last few months. This had led to a huge surge in the number of internet users. Now more than ever, people are using the internet for things they want to know, learn or buy. Because of this shift, business owners are now forced to re-invent their strategies, especially Digital Strategies, and take a second look at how they should navigate the business.

Speaking of which takes us to the next discussion. Let’s take a look at some pointers to discuss what a business should do to digitally work its way up during this global pandemic and how it should sharpen its Digital Marketing Efforts:

  • Focus on SEO:

`One of the foremost points to remember for all organizations should be to focus on search engine optimization. Now that every user is confined to his/her house, they have an ample amount of time for doing their research regarding a particular product or a service. This is the time when they’ll probably go through every or most of the websites on a search page. Well, as the chances of them checking out a website rise, it’s more of an opportunity for any business to make required tweaking on the content. Improving your previous content and creating a fresh one with all the right components like proper usage of keywords, covering all the facts concisely and presentation can be beneficial in the long run.

  • Build A Perpetual Presence on Social Media:

Building a social media presence is a fundamental requirement if yours is a business that’s heavily impacted by the Internet and/or a large portion of your customer base consists of Internet users. A perpetual social media presence refers to the idea of being constantly active on social media platforms. Some of the ways to do so could be:

  1. Increasing Retargeting List Length: The length of a retargeting list consists of thirty days, but increasing the waiting period can help you get long-lasting customers. Even though most of the users aren’t buying right now, they’re constantly spending time on research. And when your website comes up with updates on products and services in correlation with your current situation, it gets the users hooked.
  2. Introducing New Retargeting Ads: This one is more of an extension of the previous one. Updating your products in view of the current situation calls for interactive promotion. One of the most important tools is creating promotional videos concerning the pandemic. This creates an emotional connection with your visitors.
  3. Stress on Your Creative Team: Focusing on your creative team to come up with innovative content is the most important thing. Creating innovative content covers traditional content and advertisement campaigns.
  • Start Stimulating Consumption:

In this pandemic, one of the toughest situations is getting through with sales. With all the physical stores looked up, there are a few that are still open for business. Now, the problem is, they charge reasonably higher than they used to, and due to the lack of abundance, the people who’re choosing physical stores over virtual ones are paying considerably high every time. If yours is a food delivery website, this is a perfect opportunity to come up with strategies to stimulate consumption like discounts and package schemes. This will lure in more and more customers and increase the volume of sales.

  • Create Remarketing Campaigns:

For every organization, a loyal customer is the most valuable asset. If your business operates heavily on the online platform, you understand the importance of a long-lasting customer. In this pandemic, every organization should take this step diligently. Creating remarketing campaigns to reconnect with past visitors can be very beneficial to turn them into loyal customers. Using Microsoft marketing, YouTube campaigns, and local display campaigns can be a way of approaching past visitors. And if your Marketing Campaigns consist of new remarketing ads and improved content presentation, it will get the visitor hooked to your organization.

  • Take time to align your digital marketing efforts:

Talking about digital marketing, every point we discussed is in some way or the other related to that. But there’s more to it. Aligning your digital marketing efforts according to the pandemic is important to improve your brand image. Some of the untapped components that need attention are:

  1. Creating interactive videos, images, and carousel ads
  2. Provide the audience with detailed information about current products and services.
  3. Answering FAQs related to questions regarding how the business is taking preventive measures.
  4. Making sure that your advertising strategies are aligned with relative searches and keywords that are trending right now.

Engaging with AI And Machine Learning Frameworks

Engaging with AI And Machine Learning Frameworks

What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)? How is it different from Machine Learning?’ As we have seen in most of the sci-fi movies, Artificial Intelligence is not confined to robotics. On the contrary, it has a wide spectrum and machine learning is a part of it. Even though machine learning is an integral part of AI, it has a separate identity of its own. In today’s digitized world, where the internet is one of the most important technologies and is used as one too, Artificial Intelligence is a significant leap towards challenging the potential of web development. Artificial Intelligence is simply a system that’s intelligent enough to react to external stimuli, remotely like a human being. If we think about this very definition, we’ll now have in our minds, a variety of products in the form of software and mobile applications that have AI integrated into their program.

Machine learning, on the other hand, is the process to make a particular system expert in a stipulated field with the help of a designated algorithm. Suppose there is a computer system and a developer wants it to recognize his dog. For that, he’ll install an algorithm having details about different breeds, feeding with it, and photos of different dogs from different angles. Now, the computer can recognize his user’s dog using his camera, but if he brings a cat in front of it, he fails miserably. This is where AI has leverage over machine learning. AI is different than just making a system mug up a piece of particular information. It’s like giving the system a new brain altogether. Let’s discuss some points in this respect to better understand both aspects of web development.

  • IMPORTANCE OF MACHINE LEARNING:

Although machine learning is a narrow aspect compared to AI, it has many applications both in day-to-day activities and other technical activities. If we understand the point further using a couple of examples, let’s take Google for example. Google is a company that has integrated both Artificial Intelligence and machine learning technologies. Speaking about the former, Google Translate is a prominent example of Google Engaging with Machine LearningBefore google translate came to light, it was just a thought that any application could understand a foreign language and translate it into one’s native language. But Google Translate not only met this challenge but also came up with a technology that could understand the style of written text and reply to it according to the user’s command. Not only Google Translate there are many applications like handwriting recognition software.

  • How is Artificial Intelligence shaping the future?

Now that we’ve come down to Artificial Intelligence let’s take a look at its latest trends. Let’s take the cell phone manufacturing company Apple for instance. It surely makes one of the best technologically advanced smartphones. An iPhone, its voice assistant Siri is a beautiful example of AI. iPhone was the first smartphone with a voice assistant and that too inbuilt in its software. So the real question here is, ‘What came into Steve Jobs that he came up with such an idea?’ Having a smartphone with a voice assistant was the need of the demography back then, not was it a perpetual issue. So what was it? I was the curiosity of a human being to explore the depth of present-day technology. As soon as the internet was invented, people witnessed that they could do so much with their capabilities and now with the internet at their disposal, they can achieve anything they want. This very motivation fueled up the idea of web development which gradually led us to create bionic equipment, humanoid robots, drones, and much more.

Artificial intelligence not only eased the process of web development but promoted breakthrough projects like Google Brain. Google Brain is a deep-learning artificial intelligence research team formed in the 2010s with the sole purpose of enhancing present-day technology and solving current technological setbacks. One of the most interesting projects of Google Brain was the Artificial-intelligence-devised encryption system. Under this project, Google Brain ran a couple of experiments that involved two sets of AIs who would devise their own cryptographic algorithms to protect their communications from another AI. The catch in this scenario was that they weren’t given specific instructions about the encryption of their messages. This breakthrough is yet to be confirmed but we can fathom the fact that artificial intelligence is shaping the future in a way that we can never imagine. And humans are Engaging with AI and Machine Learning frameworks now more than ever.

This shows our progressive nature and throws light on our dynamic thought process which makes us adaptive to the changing environment. If we take a closer look at it, both technology and humans are approaching the future together and that’s because of the curiosity we were born with.

Overview of Business Intelligence Tools and their Functions

The booming business market calls for smart decisions to keep in check the level of competition by making smart business decisions. Business Intelligence allows you to do the same. It is the process of gathering all the data that an organization garners from all its activities. After all the data is gathered, it is then turned into visual data for better analysis and finally, this analysis provides the business with actionable business insights that eventually allow a representative with smarter business development decisions for better performance of the business altogether. ‘What is the need for business intelligence?’ one might ask, considering the conventional way of practicing business activities and exercising business decisions. Well, in this constantly changing environment where everything is going digitized, every organization be it an established player or a budding one, should buck up and accept the challenge of the current scenario. To perform BI activities every organization looks for professionals who’ve mastered the knowledge of Business Intelligence Tools and have faced the challenges in real-time by learning about how to tackle them. Let’s take a look at some of these tools so that we can understand what they are and why we need professionals in this particular field.

  • Tableau: It’s a BI tool that allows a professional to distinguish complex trend patterns so that they can convert them into innovative business insights that’ll help their clients to formulate adequate decisions. Creating dashboards in Tableau is not much of a technical approach as it is available on almost all devices to connect with more and more users. The dashboards can be implemented by simply using drag-and-drop fields.

Some of the features that make it distinguishable from others are:

  1. It supports apt visualization:

Tableau allows professionals to select data and switch between visualizations so that they can come up with the best visual approach for the data.

  1. Tableau gives users different ways to answer questions when they’re going through the data visualizations. This enhances the process of discovering particular data.
  2. Tableau offers a variety of implementing and consulting services for enterprise-level deployment.
  3. Tableau offers its end-users to create customized formulas that are not available on most of the tools.
  4. Tableau allows the number of native connectors (individuals) to easily pull, cleanse, and correlate data from any source they can score without having to create any custom code.
  • Informatica: Informatica is a data integration tool that is based on the Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) model, which means it covers the extraction of data from different sources and then transforms it into a structure that can be used for report analysis.

Some of the features that make it a highly useful tool are:

  1. It gathers all the data from all the possible sources a business is associated with and then loads it into the targeted sources where the data is supposed to be.
  2. Informatica’s ETL structure helps it to stand as a tool that is capable of handling a huge amount of data.
  3. Along with handling a huge quantity of data, Informatica also provides services like data integration and software for a variety of industries like telecommunication, healthcare, finance, and insurance.
  4. Even though it has a high-performance nature, Informatica is a simple tool when it comes to developing, maintaining, and administering it.

These features make Informatica more beneficial than the conventional ETL process.

  • Microsoft Business Intelligence (MSBI): Microsoft Business Intelligence is one of the top-rated business intelligence and data mining tools. Below are some features that make it distinguishable in the market.
  1. Microsoft Business Intelligence allows its user to create interactive dashboards and scoreboards so that the visual output is having more of a creative touch than a dry one.
  2. Microsoft Business Intelligence as a tool has a well-integrated structure that allows it to create outputs that are both snappy and exact.
  3. It promotes optimized solutions for business intelligence queries.
  4. Uses visual studio with structure query language or SQL servers. This in turn allows businesses to access the most accurate information so that they can come up with improved superior decisions every time they use it.

As a BI tool, Microsoft Business Intelligence is categorized into three services, namely:

  1. SQL Server Integrated Services (SSIS)

As an SSIS Microsoft business intelligence is a platform for creating high-end performances and workflow solutions.

2. SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)

As an SSAS Microsoft business intelligence is a platform for converting dimensional data into a multi-dimensional data model.

3. SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)

Finally, as an SSRS, Microsoft Business Intelligence acts as an enterprise reporting platform that supports both dimensional and multi-dimensional data. As of reporting, it supports both traditional and interactive data that are delivered over the web.

Blockchain Technology’s Role in Recruitment- 2021

Blockchain is an online distribution system that stores a huge amount of data. In other words, it’s a chain of blocks that contain information according to the business it’s implemented on. Blockchain was initially described as a structure with the intent to timestamp digital documents so that no one can backdate them. But soon as people got the hint of its potential Blockchain was adapted to create the digital cryptocurrency, bitcoin. ‘So what made Blockchain technology so popular among organizations?’ It can be stated that the data storing structure of blockchain led to its popularity but there are other determinants that contribute collectively towards its fame. Below are some pointers that discuss in detail exactly how and why Blockchain is used so rigorously.

How does its work system help the corporate sphere?

As we’ve discussed earlier, blockchain stores a large number of data, and that data depends on the type of blockchain. This showcases that it’s not confined to a certain type of business or activities and can be flexibly used in any type of organization. Talking about its work system, each block in the chain has a hash that is as unique as a fingerprint, and any change in the block in terms of malicious tampering or change in the stored data will lead to a change in the hash. Along with this, each block has another hash of the previous block. This ensures the security of the technology because if any tampering is done, it’ll get reflected on the following blocks. To ensure the security of the technology, blockchain has a mechanism called proof-of-work that slows down the creation of new blocks. This helps in reducing the chances of tampering with the blocks because if one block is tampered with, one has to change the proof-of-work of all the following blocks.

If a company is using Blockchain Technology for storing its potential employees’ data, this secured structure adds up to its benefit. As we all know IT firms are prone to external data breaches more than any other organization. Thus, the proof-of-work mechanism of this technology makes their sensitive data more secure than ever.

  • WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF BLOCKCHAIN’S PEER-TO-PEER NETWORK?

As the question already suggested, blockchain technology uses a peer-to-peer network that allows anyone to join. Let’s say an organization has decided to implement blockchain technology for storing all the data regarding recruitment. The peer-to-peer network allows all the designated members to join. Each member that joins the networks gets a copy of the blockchain node so that they can verify that everything is still in order. This node creates a consensus where every member decides which blocks are valid and should be kept in the network. Therefore any block that has been tampered and is invalid, is rejected by the network. This well-built structure reduces the chances of any further tampering as one has to tamper with all the blocks, redo the proof-of-work and take control over fifty percent of the peer-to-peer network. This is something impossible to do, thus, making the use of Blockchain Technology in Recruitment a smart decision. It’s the security of blockchain technology that led to many companies turning to this for recruitment and other operations as well. Not only for recruitment purposes but blockchain technology can also be used for storing data about existing employees and other information like details about business activities.

These are some of the important features that showcase its importance in the recruitment process and make it a trending proposition altogether. On this note, it can be stated that among all the technologies, the blockchain has game-changing possibilities across other countries. The use of blockchain has gained so much popularity that a Forbes weblog stated that in coming years; blockchain would deeply impact HR’s responsibilities. Its ability to cut to the chase of utilizing data without any middleman could omit HR’s responsibility in the recruitment process. According to recent research by Forbes, it is said almost 60% of job seekers misstate themselves on their resumes. This misinterpretation on a seeker’s part gave rise to the rigorous use of blockchain technology, keeping in mind its data lock structure. With its amazing work system, blockchain allows the recruiting teams, snappy and accurate access to a potential employee’s entire employment history. The misrepresentation of data by a job seeker ad many other issues lie that led MIT’s Media Lab to come up with a program that uses blockchain technology to issue, display, and verify credential details.

On a concluding note, blockchain technology might be the future for recruitment in the corporate sphere but we should keep in mind that as a new technology, it might face difficulty in settling into the already established framework. But the perpetual development in technology will surely make it up to the mark.
